To achieve our ultimate target of zero serious accidents, our policies focus on two areas: workplace safety and technological risk management.

·         Consolidate the decline in the number of workplace accidents, which decreased 57% between 2009 and 2013, surpassing our original target of 25%.

·         Establish and apply a common set of Golden Rules across Total, to maintain constant awareness of the inherent risks of our business.

·         Strengthen our processes for managing technological risks, by using technical standards recognized by the industry to maintain the integrity of our industrial and logistics facilities.

·         Share best practices widely, report anomalies and near misses consistently, and use feedback in a more formal way, to embed our safety culture.
